Bulimia, Diets & The New You!


How is your new 2024 shaping up for you so far? 

So 2023, may not be the year you beat your bulimia and recovered for life! 2024 is in full swing! Lets not allow the same fate for the 2024, by making your this year STRONG!

We are breezing in to spring soon ! Knowing the world, anybody who was ever conscious of their body weight, extra body fat, poor body image or excessive indulgence over the winter comfort eating is looking desperately for that diet that works!  The next big diet plan, that’s going to make them slimmer and happier – transforming their life as they know it.

As one of the four major commercial sectors, which thrives on making cash out of consumers, the diet industry is at it’s peak right now, busy making billions out of our body insecurities with claims which does not even last past the 1st couple of weeks of January..let alone the rest of the year !

“Diets that work fast”; “Diets to lose weight effortlessly”…promises of weight loss made faster, easier, cheaper in the time that you and I could blink are all the claims, coated in lies and deception. Yet we DO want quick fixes with little or no pain ..nothing less would do, it would seems !

What about the diets for bulimic weight loss? Well, like any other, many of you reading this will have tried one diet or another: calorie counting, skipping meals, all-day- fasting, diets for blood groups, cabbage soup diet, low carb diet, detox diet, diet pills, laxatives, diuretics … the list is never-ending! The vulnerable amongst you will be plummeting in to the depth of dark paranoia, self hate, depression, despair, anxiety and suicidal thoughts over what others seems to take on well in their stride!!

Before you reach out to reinforce your latest diet fad, be it a diet plan or a compensatory strategy of exercising till you drop or increase your laxatives – ask your self this question: How well am I doing both emotionally and physically so far?

Check : Have I crossed over to the realm of all or nothing once more, be it my choices, mindset, or destructive behaviours? If you have not made this change internally, what gives you hope that Bulimia will be gone by the time 2024 ends?

If your answers to any of these startling questions disappoint you, rather than being surprised –  simply decide to break free from this old patterns. Instead of this all or nothing mode of diet mindset – ask : what would my life be like if I chose the path of moderation? Moderation in the way I eat, I exercise, adopt new behaviours, the way I treat my self to any indulgence, the way I cope with extremes of life? When you fully embrace this mid point and balanced approach, then you are truly ready for your bingeing and purging bulimia free life, no matter the year!
